General Guidelines for Transfer of Credit
- CSU-Global Campus will evaluate all prior credit and will work with students to develop a degree-completion program plan that allows as much transferable credit as possible to be applied towards a bachelor’s degree.
- Prior coursework must be college-level and completed with a grade of C- or better to be accepted in transfer. Credit can be awarded for academic pass/fail courses in which a passing grade that is equivalent to a "C-" or better has been awarded. Transfer grades and credits are not computed within the cumulative GPA earned at CSU-Global Campus.
- A maximum of 60 semester credits may be accepted in transfer from accredited community colleges and a maximum of 90 semester credits may be accepted in transfer from accredited four-year institutions.
- There is no time limit on prior credit earned except that credit earned more than 10 years prior to enrollment may not meet a degree program major requirement unless it is approved by the Dean. If credit is not applied toward a degree program major, it may still be accepted as general education or elective credit.
- Quarter credits are converted to semester credits upon transfer to CSU-Global Campus. This is done by multiplying the quarter credits by 2/3 (or .667).
- Credit will not be accepted in transfer for courses that do not meet minimum college-level standards, which by name or description are developmental, remedial, or preparatory (examples: remedial English, developmental reading, preparatory mathematics, pre-college math, etc.)
- Courses of a vocational/technical nature are generally not transferable. However, credit will be accepted in transfer if it is pertinent to the needs of a particular curriculum or is similar in content and level with courses taught at CSU-Global Campus and similar universities.
All transfer policies are subject to modification or change. Please refer to the Academic Catalog for official policies.
